On a shocking wicket at Widmer End the Ridge Sunday side smashed an extremely average Widmer End side to all parts of the ground.
Eddie hit a patient 82 including 4 sixes, his brother followed with an even more patient 54*. Mark 'the hair' Dakin was less patient reaching 58*, hitting 7 sixes in a short stay at the crease. After declaring on 240-3 at tea the Ridge were never in danger of losing. Widmer started their innings quickly going at 10 an over for the first 6, a double bowling change and 2 great catches from Eddie saw both "danger" men removed. Once this has been done Widmer End bizarely shut up shop and closed their innings on 140ish - 7.
In summary - great batting from Eddie, Egg and Mark, good catching from Eddie, poor catching from Egg and good bowling from Nat, poor bowling from Widmer End, bad fielding and strange batting tactics on an awful wicket.
