Ridge 1's hold Challow while 2's crush Thame

The First XI lost 8 overs to rain in their game at Challow that went from being a promising game of cricket to an inevitable draw while the 2nd XI made short work of Thame chasing down 185 thanks to a fine 106no from stand in Skipper Henry Hale.

At Meadow Styles the Ridge won the toss and elected to bat against a Challow side that had racked up in excess of 300 the previous week. Some quick scoring from Turner and Steve Bird saw the Ridge progress serenely to 100 for 1 when Bird was caught behind for 56. Russell was run out for 54 and despite Dave Wells's 36, the wheels came off as the Challow spinners picked up 7 wickets to leave the Ridge on 194-9, a good 30 short of their intended target.

The Challow innings followed a similar pattern with the openers scoring 43 and 35 and just wickets down with three figures on the board. However, Ben Keeping delivered a couple of wickets and Brzezicki also to peg back Challow. With the game looking interesting, the umpires took the teams from the field due to rain and when they returned no result was likely. The Ridge fared better after the resumption with Keeping picking up two more wickets to end with 4-42.

Away from home at Thame the 2nd XI fielded first and restricted Thame to 185 with Robbie Carter bowling through the innings. However the batters were the stars with Henry Hale making 106 not out and Robbie Carter chipping in with 26. The Ridge 2nd's would be top of the league were it not for a 5 point deduction for failure to provide an umpire.
