The Ridge fielded a 3rd XI for the first time in its history and they rolled over Stokenchurch with Sniffer and Egg leading from the front with 50's and Brian bagging a decent 28 as Stoken underestimated the Ridge's adopted Texan. Meanwhile both the 1st and 2nd XI's bowled out their respective Bourton Vale opposition and chased the runs down.
At home, the 1's won the toss and elected to field. Knowing that the top 4 were the danger men, the Ridge were keen to take early wickets and did so with Dave Roberts nicking off the opening bat. Dakes followed as Sam Rolfe took another good catch. However 3 and 4 are Bourton's runs scorers and took the score to 70 before Morf pulled off a great stop at cover and proceeded to run out the O'seas. Number 4 Whitney had by that time got a little hot under the collar and was out lbw trying to lift Boogier over mid-wicket. As expected wickets then tumbled as Boogs took 4-40 and Roberts 3 for.
With 119 to chase and 59 overs to get them in, the Ridge started brightly and both Midds and Russ stroked the ball to all parts as both began to find their form. Russell was out with only 20 needed to win and Midds and Morf saw the game off for a comfortable win. The Ridge are now off the bottom and moving up the league.
Away at Bourton the 2's revived their promotion hopes as Bourton swung from the hip to be dismissed inside 30 overs. Shakey took 5 wickets with Dan "Kenny Everett" Strange taking a blinder in the gully. Henry Hale with 64 not out saw the Ridge home in the run chase. The 2's have a genuine promotion chance and let's make sure we have everyone available toward the end of the season so we can field the best possible side.
