The 2nd XI won again with only 3 minutes left to play in the game against Oxford and Bletchingdon. Meanwhile, the 1's racked up 275 against Kingston Bagpuize, but lacked the firepower to dismiss their rivals on a flat pitch.
The 2nd XI have now won their last two matches (with one abandoned) and have raised themselves off of the bottom of the league to be comfortably mid table. Skipper Brooks starred with 80 and Richard Dryden took 3 wickets as Oxford & Bletchingdon were dismissed for 146 in reply to 269.
The 1st XI lost the toss and hit 275-7 with Middleton hitting 88 and all other batters chipping in with Hale making 33, Turner 39, Keeping 44 and Bird 45. Bagpuize then got off to a flier as Keats bludgeoned 71 but once he'd fallen to Harsh Tataria (4-103) the run rate slowed considerably and Bagpuize we're left holding on for a draw with the Ridge clustered around the bat.
The 1's are fourth in the division but only 10 points off top spot.
As always, availability is key. It appears that when the club is at full strength, the 1's look a powerful unit in Div 3 and the 2's more than hold their own in Div5. Please make every effort to be available each week..
